First Council Comes to OK

Newkirk, OK- Located just across the Kansas border in Oklahoma, a $60 million project known as the First Council Casino opened its doors on Feb 29.  The casino offers a fresh face to gambling in the area and was described by First Councils Promotions Coordinator in a report by Judy Welch as “the premier place to be.”

Separated from the slot machines and nestled in the corner is the lavish enclosed poker room. Inside the doors you will find ten poker tables spreading such games as $1-$2-$5 and $1-$3 No-Limit Hold’em.  Poker Room Manager Tim Craft brings experience to the local poker community and has already developed a steady poker player base in his room at First Council. “We improve every day and look forward to providing our players with a desirable place to play cards.”

Poker is not the only game offered however. Over 700 of the most popular gaming machines are available along with eight blackjack tables. If gambling is not your objective you can stop at the full service buffet for breakfast, lunch or dinner and also enjoy fantastic desert or the snack bar for a treat. If you just came to kick back and relax, you can do just that by heading over to the full bar and having a few drinks while listening to a live band perform.

First Council Casino is the fourth owned by the Otoe-Missoura Tribe and is one of the largest in the area, employing 400 people. For more information contact 580-448-3015 or visit www.myfirstwin.com.
