Five of a kind Queens

James Cameron - 19 Jun 2006

For a little near-poker fun, check out tomorrow's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, the show where the "Fab Five" makeover experts teach straight people how to be stylish...cause, you know, they can't figure it out on their own. Even if this isn't your cup of Chai, the June 20 show will have "Noted Poker Authority" Ed Miller in the hot seat, and he trains the Fab Five in a little No Limit Texas Hold'em along the way.

Here is the rest of the story, from Ed's press release:

Ed Miller Make-over by Queer Eye, to Air Tuesday, June 20 at 10:00 PM on Bravo

Las Vegas (May 14, 2006) Tuesday, June 20 at 10:00 PM, viewers of QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY will meet ED MILLER, a professional poker player and accomplished author of a well-known "how to" poker-strategy book and DVD series. He has the skills of the game but none of the panache. The Fab Five help Ed change his look and demeanor, and Ed teaches one of them to play in a Texas Hold'em Celebrity Poker Mini-tourney with Susan Anton, Penn Jillette, David Brenner, and George Wallace.

The $10,000 charity prize is meaningful to Ed, who grew up in New Orleans where his parents divorced and lived around the corner from each other until broken levees from Hurricane Katrina destroyed both of their homes. Watch one of the Fabbers compete for the $10,000 prize, made possible by Travelocity, to be donated to Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans in the all-new episode premiering on Tuesday, June 20 at 10:00 PM on Bravo.

Ed Miller is author of three poker books and four instructional DVDs. The beginner-level Getting Started in Hold ‘em (2+2 Publishing) retails for $17.95. The intermediate-level Small Stakes Hold ‘em: Winning Big with Expert Play, co-authored by David Sklansky and Mason Malmuth, (2+2 Publishing) retails for $24.95. The theoretical No Limit Hold’em: Theory and Practice, co-authored by David Sklansky (2+2 Publishing) retails for $29.95. The DVDs, entitled, Reading Hands, Adjusting Your Play, Advanced Pre-Flop Concepts, and Protecting Your Hand were filmed in London and retail for $24.95 each (Expert Hold $Em).
