2010 WSOP Changes Announced

TourneyBlog Staff - 30 Apr 2010

A few changes to the layout and start times aim to improve the WSOP 2010 experience.

Players in Las Vegas for the WSOP this year may not notice the changes organizers have made for their benefit, but the small

moves are significant nonetheless. To start with this year there will be two start times for events; noon and 5 in the evening. The former games aim to end at 12:40 am and resume at 2:30 the next day, and the later end at 2:40 am and resume at 3 pm, keeping the follow up rounds the next day separate and giving players plenty of time for sleep.

As far as the layout the Amazon Room will no longer be the primary poker room, although it is the one you want to end up in.

Games will be split between the Amazon and the Poker Pavillion, but according to the organizers the tables will break towards the Amazon, which means that most final tables will take place there.

Flight Clearance
When big events, especially the Main Event, have multiple day one flights players will now only be able to choose their start day up to a certain date. After that they will automatically be assigned – this should clear up the problems of last year with overbooking and players being turned away on the last day of flights.

Other changes like closer eating digs and fresher food promise to make the 2010 WSOP a memorable experience.
