Ante up for Africa with Annie Duke and Don Cheadle (credit: San Manuel Casino)

120 celebrities, poker professionals and athletes will take to the felt at the San Manuel Casino in southern California on Thursday May 8, 2008 beginning at 6.30 pm PST. Each of these entertainers has responded to an invite to take part in a special tournament to benefit Darfur. The Ante up for Africa Event, which was first played at the WSOP in the summer of 2007, aids survivors of the humanitarian crisis in Darfur.

(Note: This year’s Ante up for Africa Event at the WSOP will take place on June 2 and features a $5,000 buy-in.)

Oscar nominee Don Cheadle and WSOP Tournament of Champions winner Annie Duke have put this event together. In addition to the tourney, there will be a silent auction, autograph sessions and live broadcasts and coverage by radio and TV.
