Poker Stars has announced a new major live poker series, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour. While the APPT is starting with only three events, more are planned and will be announced when they are ready.

The APPT will range from Korea to Australia, and gets things underway in the Philippines. The first event will run from August 23-26 at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino in Manila with a $2,500 buy in. There is limited seating, so the player cap is at 275. There will be some limited alternative seating.

The second event will take place September 28-30 at the Sheraton Walkerhill in Seoul, South Korea. This is also a $2,500 buy in, with a 250 player cap—also some limited alternative seating.

The Star City Casino in Sydney, Australia is the APPT final event, running at some point in December. This event is a $5,000 buy in, and the seating cap is yet to be determined.

PokerStars has qualifiers running now. Hit the site for daily satellites starting at $22.
