The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has finally announced its 2008 calendar. Each event on the schedule will feature a guaranteed $1,000,000 prize pool which is sure to attract entrants from all over the world. The APT kicks off in Manila, the capital of the Philippines from May 27 – June 1, 2008. With a buy-in of $2,500, the event is expected to have more than 400 entrants.
Recently bought by online gambling operator, AsianLogic Limited, the APT will head to Macau, South Korea and Singapore later this year. Chris Parker, CEO of AsianLogic, said of the APT, “This is such an exciting time for poker players in Asia and we feel that with our expertise and skills we can make the APT a bigger and better series of events each year. From the four events that will take place this year, the APT plans to expand to a total of six events in 2009. We are continually working to set up some of the world’s most exciting and prestigious poker tournaments.”
