The Australian Poker Championship, which is also known as the Aussie Millions, is held annually at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. The Southern Hemisphere's richest poker tournament, the Aussie Millions, which takes place in January, during the middle of the Aussie summer, features a prize pool in excess of AUD$7,000,000.

First held in July of 1998, the event has grown by leaps and bounds, attracting players from all across the globe. The last three Aussie Millions Main Event champs are Lee Nelson, Gus Hansen and Alexander Kostritsyn. Kostritsyn, a young player from Russia, defeated Full Tilt pro and multi-WSOP bracelet holder, Erik Seidel, in heads-up play to take the title in January of 2008.
