Barry Greenstein was chip leader at the end of Day 1 at the $1,500 Razz Tournament at the 2008 World Series of Poker. When Day 2 came to a close, he was one behind the chip leader. He stayed in second position for much of the final table, steering clear of the big collisions and allowing his opponents to knock each other out for a bit.
As three-handed play got underway, Greenstein made his move and took over the chip lead. He would not relinquish it. After Christopher Viox, the Day 2 chip leader, dispatched Chris Klodnicki in third place with a wheel (A,2,3,4,5), the absolute best hand in razz, he and Greenstein battled for the bracelet. The man who is known as The Robin Hood of Poker for his generous nature, Greenstein had a two to one advantage. Despite his lead, the duo battled for about two hours before Greenstein put Viox away, claiming his third bracelet.
Here are the results:
1) Barry Greenstein - $157,643
2) Chris Klodnicki - $97,839
3) Chris Viox - $58,742
4) Mark Tenner - $43,284
5) Brandon Leeds - $33,081
6) Joseph Michael - $25,661
7) Archie Karas - $19,477
8) Michael Wattel - $16,386
