Deanna Goodson - 11 Aug 2008

Again in a move that defies geography, Poker Stars, the online home of players such as Humberto Brenes, Vanessa Rousso, Kathy Liebert and Chad Brown, has decided to add the 2009 Caribbean Adventure to the roster of events of its highly successful European Poker Tour. (EPT). Since its inception in 2004, the PCA has been a popular event on the professional tournament circuit.

Previous champions include Gus Hansen (2004), Gentleman John Gale (2005), Steve-Paul Ambrose (2006), Ryan Daut (2007) and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. This year’s event, which will again take place at the Atlantis Resort & Casino in Paradis Island in the Bahamas, has an $8,000 buy-in. The tournament will commence shortly after the New Year in 2009 from January 5 – 11, 2009.

Last year’s tourney attracted more than 1,000 players and generated a prize pool of more than $8.5 million. This year’s tournament is expected to top that.
