Is Salvatore Bonavena the next EPT champion?(credit: Poker Stars Blog)
272 players entered Day 1a of the EPT Prague tournament. By the end of the Day, Ludovic Lacay had the chip lead. 298 players took to the felt for Day 1b, bringing the grand total of entries up to 570 for the Czech championship title. Dario Minieri and Christer Johansson were the chip leaders at the end of the night.
Day 2 began with 177 players walked into the Prague Hilton, each hoping to make it through to the money. Erich Kollmann was the unfortunate bubble boy after being KO’d by Rifat Palevic’s pocket cowboys.
As the night wore on, Juha Helppi, Dario Minieri and Johnny Lodden hit the rail. 32 players survived the carnage. Spain’s Juan Maceiras held one of the top spots along with Fredrik Nygard and Day 1a chip leader, Ludovic Lacay.
Day 3 began with those 32 players and ended with just eight. The last remaining Czech player, Pter Samcenko hit the rail early (32nd place). Ludovic Lacay, who has made three EPT final tables including one at the Polish Open last month, went from chip leader to railbird, claiming 22nd position. Juan Maceiras also left the action earlier than expected, earning €22,100 for his efforts and the unlucky 23th position.
Former EPT champion and WSOP bracelet winner, Sebastian Ruthenberg (EPT Barcelona 2008) bubbled the final table by finishing in 9th place.
