World Polker Crown (credit: 888.com)

On February 21, 2008, 888.com released information about their new global tournament offering – the World Poker Crown. The tournament began qualifiers on February 20th. These will continue through the end of April. The online final runs on April 26th and features a $1,050 buy-in.

Eight qualifiers from this event will them move on to the live action grand finale in Barcelona, Spain. Each will be put up in a 16th century castle in the beautiful medieval Catalan town of Peralada. They will stay there from May 6-10, 2008 and will get the opportunity to play in the $3,000,000 Guaranteed World Poker Crown Tournament.

The first place finisher is expected to take home one-third of that prize pool for a cool million dollar payday.
