48 of the world’s best players headed to the felt at the 2009 Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure. Each paid $25,000 to take part in the event. Well-known pros such as Sorel Mizzi, Daniel Negreanu and Erik Seidel.
The final table was a who’s who of poker with Humberto Brenes and Daniel Alaei having strong showings in the tourney. One player, Liya Gerasimova was a bit of surprise until we realized her beau is none other than Ivan Demidov. Demidov, who finished second behind world champ Peter Eastgate at the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event , could be found sweating his lady behind the rail.
Former PCA champion Bertrand “ElKY” Grospellier walked into the final table with a solid chip stacks. He soon took the lead and pretty much held it all the way to heads-up play against Will Molson. ElKY wasted precious little time in dispatching of the Canadian.
Here are the final results:
1) Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - $433,500
2) Will Molson - $228,000
3) Scott Seiver - $137,000
4) Liya Gerasimova - $91,300
