Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi has dominated online tournaments for years. The 20-something Canadian player, who is sponsored by Betfair Poker, made the transition to live action play with less success.
That is … until now. Mizzi defeated 135 players on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Bellagio. He was playing in the fifth event of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, which is currently going on in Vegas.
Mizzi, who was runner-up in the Pot Limit Hold’em tourney at the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe, took down $143,050 for the win in this $3,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em competition.
