The Irish Poker Open is the longest running NLHE tournament in Europe and the second longest running poker event worldwide. (Note: The longest running poker tournament is the World Series of Poker.)

First organized in 1981 by well-known Irish bookmaker, Terry Rogers, the series came under the Paddy Power Poker sponsorship umbrella in 2005. Since then, the tourney has grown by leaps and bounds.

Previous Irish Poker Open winners include Noel Furlong (1987, 1989 & 1992), Liam Flood (1996), Joe Beevers (2003) and Marty Smyth (2007). This year's champion was Neil Channing, defeating hometown favorite Donal Norton in an epic heads-up battle. He earned a whopping €801,400 in the process.

You can qualify exclusively for the Irish Open at the sponsors Paddy Power Poker
