Is the EPT Dortmund off the Menu for 2010

Deanna Goodson - 17 Mar 2009

There’s a rumor going around that the third visit of the European Poker Tour to Dortmund (Germany) will be its last. Apparently, some of the pros have expressed displeasure at the way the Casino Hohensyburg has been running the show citing disorganization and confusion about rules and protocol.

There was also a problem with sponsored players being able to display clothing or logos bearing the site they are sponsored with, another taboo for an event such as the EPT. John Duthie, the EPT founder, only said that “if we do come back next year, a lot of things will have to change.”

Duthie did say that the EPT is looking at some new locations for Season 6 including places like Portugal and Morocco. They’d like a “destination event – somewhere warm.”

The series is seeking a maximum of 12 events and the Season 6 schedule may be made available by the time the EPT Grand Final takes place this April.
