67 players took to the felt for the $5,000 buy-in World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event in Council Bluffs, IA. The final nine wasted no time in getting to the action with Jeff Daubs going all in with his pocket hook son the first hand of play. He was quickly called (and eliminated) by Jesse Hale and his A,A in the hole.
Hale, for his part, waltzed into heads-up play with a nice lead. Over the course of an hour of heads-up play, he grew that lead to a commanding 1.155 million chips to his opponent, Dennis Meierotto’s 185k.
On the final hand, Hale held two pair and sent his opponent to the rail. Hale’s win netted him not only $113,020 but also a circuit ring and a ticket to the WSOP Main Event this summer.
These are the final results:
1) Jesse Hale - $113,020
2) Dennis Meierotto - $62,790
