Harrah's Atlantic City
76 year old Frank Panetta is a former real estate agent from Brick, New Jersey. The poker enthusiast entered a $300 buy-in NLHE event along with 1,064 others at the WSOPC Tournament in Atlantic City recently. Panetta emerged victorious from the event, winning $76,104. Unfortunately, his win was overshadowed by another player.
Lesley S. Thornburg had received several warnings throughout the tournament for unsportsmanlike behavior. After making the final table, Thornburg continued to make loud comments and bait his fellow players. He entered the table second in chips and overtook the lead shortly afterwards. He was told to stack his chips properly and cautioned against reckless and random chip movements. The tournament director got so fed up with him that he ousted Thornburg in fifth place…while he still retained the chip lead.
Thornburg, a contractor from Virginia, earned $19,026 for his finish.
These are the final results:
1) Frank Panetta - $76,104
2) Andy Santiago - $42,824
3) Todd Rebello - $25,368
4) Lee Ervin - $22,197
