Men “The Master” Nguyen is having one heck of a tournament run at the 2008 LA Poker Classic, currently being held at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. The four-time CardPlayer Player of the Year (1997, 2001, 2003, & 2005) has won three events at the LAPC so far. First, he took down Event #10, a Stud Hi-Lo tourney for $15,129. Then he won Event #14, a NLHE contest that netted him an additional $81,870. Recently, he won Event #20. The name of the game was Limit Hold’em. Nguyen pocketed $42,870 for his first-place finish there.
The Main Event of the 2008 LAPC will begin on Saturday, February 23rd. We predict that Nguyen will be a major factor at the WPT Championship tournament.
