Sliwinski Defeats Liu and Roman in Deep Stack Tourney

Deanna Goodson - 5 Dec 2008

Earlier we had reported that Joanne “JJ” Liu won the Venetian Deep Stack Main Event. Unfortunately, that information is incorrect. Today, we learned that Liu, who had the most chips when play got down to three-handed, was eliminated soon after.

This left Nicholas Sliwinski and Ulises Roman to fight it out for the title. Sliwinski went on to take first place, but still had third-place prize money.

Got that? Good!

Here are the revised results:

1) Nicholas Sliwinski - $98,610
2) Ulises Roman - $115,760
3) Joanne "J.J." Liu - $110,492
4) Richard Dinunzio - $48,567
5) Stewart Yancik - $32,378
6) Anasavanh Sittivong - $26,981
7) Blake Cahail - $21,585
8) Christopher MacNeil - $16,189
9) Randy Dorfman - $10,793
