The Irish Open, Europe's most historic poker tournament, has undergone an upgrade. In 2008, the event, which is brought to you by the folks at PaddyPowerPoker, will feature an €4,200 + €300 buy-in. This will drive the guaranteed prize pool up to an impressive €3,000,000. That's €1 million more than last year.
The event, which has always been a big draw among professionals especially in the UK, will also have a maximum allotment of 1,000 entrants this year. As a result, for the first time in the history of the event, there will be two Day 1s.
