Peter Feldman isn’t even 30 yet, but he’s already accomplished a rare feat in the world of poker. The Michigan-based poker pro, who hails from Harper Woods, won the World Series of Poker Bayou Poker Classic in New Orleans last year. He defeated Gavin Smith, the 2006 WPT Poker Player of the Year, in a great heads-up match there.
Now, he has gone and done it again. Peter bested a field of over 180 entrants, including the WSOP Main Event champs Scotty Nguyen, Carlos Mortensen and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, the only other dude to win two World Series of Poker Circuit events. Feldman won the lion’s share of the $877,850 prize pool at the WSOPC Rincon, which is located about 40 miles northeast of San Diego.
On Day 1, more than 2/3 of the field busted out, leaving only 43 to fight it out on Day Two. The final table took place on Thursday, February 22, 2007. By the end of Day 3, Feldman was the last man standing. He received $280,859 for the win as well as a seat to the 2007 WSOP Main Event which will be held in July this year – and a WSOC ring.
Pacific Poker wants to send you to the WSOP in 2007. They’re currently running a $12,500 WSOP Main Event qualifier on the last Friday of every month! Top prize is a seat at the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event. You can buy-in direct for $125 +$10 or play the satellites in for as little as $2.00.
