Within less than six hours, 23 year old Michael “Mickey” Pickett of Little Canada, MN emerged victorious at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah’s Rincon. Pickett became the youngest WSOPC champ yet.

Despite entering the final table on a short stack, Pickett managed to outwit and outlast the others including professionals Gavin Smith and Lee Watkinson. The two titans fought each other for chips and wound up going out one after the other in sixth and seventh position.

In the end, Mickey, who recently turned pro, faced David Peters heads-up. Pickett held a more than 2-to-1 chip lead after dispatching of former chip leader, Edward Sabat. Pickett, who attended Iowa State University for just one year, picked up $229,002, a seat at the 2008 WSOP Main Event this summer and the coveted circuit championship ring.

Here are the final results:

1) Michael Pickett - $229,002
2) David Peters - $120,156
3) Edward Sabat - $70,680
4) Kenny Bedoya - $56,544
5) Cristian Avendano - $42,408
6) Gavin Smith - $35,340
7) Lee Watkinson - $28,272
8) Damien Oborne - $21,204
9) Jon Eaton - $14,136
