514 players took to the felt for the first event of Harrah’s World Series of Poker Circuit Tunica event. They drove the prize pool, with the buy-in of $340, up to a $149,574.
The winner of the event was one Ronald “Slugger” Sewell. Sewell is no stranger to success. The 52 year old business owner from Shelby, NC has won more than 150 stock car races. He’s also made a final table in Tunica last year.
He faced Mark “Pegasus” Smith heads-up. Pegasus, a businessman/horse breeder won the $5,000 championship in Tunica back in October 2008 and a preliminary event at the Caesar’s Indiana series in 2006.
