Shannon Elizabeth first came to the world’s attention when she portrayed a sexy foreign exchange student in “American Pie”. Since then, the highly competitive gal, who once contemplated a professional tennis career, has become quite a fixture on the poker circuit. Earlier this week, the actress turned poker professional – she made headlines in ’07 for her third-place finish at the NBC National Heads-Up Championship – showed up in Australia.
She’s in town for the Aussie Millions Main Event, which began on January 14, 2008. The lovely lady joined Mansion pro Marc Goodwin at a special breakfast announcing her sponsorship deal with the online poker site.
Unfortunately Shannon didn’t last long in the tournament. She was ousted by Phil Laak, the beau of another celebrity turned poker pro, Jennifer Tilly.
However, we’re sure to see the pretty pokerati at the 2008 National Heads-Up Championship. She’s already been invited to that event. We can also expect her to show up at the WSOP. Back in 2006, Elizabeth cashed in no less than three events at the World Series.
