Johan Storakers has been a fixture on the European poker scene for almost a decade now. The former paperboy, who once served in the Swedish military, plays online at UltimateBet.com. Storakers has cashed at just about every major tournament series throughout the world including the World Series of Poker (WSOP), World Poker Tour (WPT) and European Poker Tour (EPT). However, it’s on his native soil in Sweden where he’s had one of his biggest successes in his already impressive poker career.

Storakers took the top prize at the Swedish Open Poker Championship Main Event last week. A total of four events were played at the SOPC. Also winning one at the SOPC was Erik Friberg, who first rose to prominence by making the final table of the 2006 WSOP Main Event. He was victorious in third event, a NLHE shoot-out.

The buy-in for the Main Event was SEK 41,000 ($6,383 USD). 96 of Scandinavia’s best including Storakers and Finland’s own Juha Helppi and Thomas Wahlroos, were among the competitors. On the final hand, Storakers defeated Conny Sandgren’s K,J with a pair of cowboys.
