The Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, NJ has announced details for its upcoming Borgata Poker Open. The 16-day tournament series, the sixth annual event, will run from September 3-18, 2008. The 2008 Borgata Poker Open will consist of 40 events, ending with a $10,000 buy-in World Poker Tour (WPT) Borgata Poker Open Championship.

The WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship is schedule for Sept. 14th through the 18th and will have a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million, the largest ever offered by a land-based casino. The minimum amount to be set aside for the winner is $1,424,500.

According to Larry Mullin, President and Chief Operating Officer for Borgata, “From the beginning, we have had a commitment to the game of poker. We are excited to once again further stake our claim as a leading poker destination on the East Coast with our 2008 Borgata Poker Open."

On-site registration for the Borgata Poker Open begins on-site on September 1st. Players can secure their seats for the Main Event online from August 18 – 28.
