The inaugural US Poker Bowl will begin on October 20, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Poker Bowl is a week-long team competition. 150 players from all walks of life, including celebrities, poker pros and amateurs of varying skill levels, joined teams of six, representing 25 US cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Las Vegas and more. The total prize pool is $1,000,000.
The object of the game is to be the last team standing. If the individual winner of the event is not from the last remaining team, then there will be a playoff to decide the overall winner between three individuals from the winning team and the actual individual winner and the next longest-lasting member from that person’s team. The final person standing wins the match for their team. More rules and regulations are available at the U.S. Poker League’s official web site.
Pros taking part in the tournament include:

Steve Dannenmann (Cincinnati Full House)
Sorel Mizzi (Chicago Sharks)
