Yevgeniy Timoshenko Wins APT Macau Tournament

257 players traveled all the way to the Galaxy StarWorld in Macau, China to play in the Asian Poker Tour’s Macau tournament. Among this number were some of the world’s best players including Mel Judah, Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Liz “Poker Diva” Lieu. The prize pool was guaranteed at $1.5 million.

In the end, 20 year old Yevgeniy Timoshenko, a Ukrainian-born resident of the United States, took control of the final table. He entered in the middle of the pack, but played an aggressive game, eliminating at least three players at the final table before getting to heads up play against South Korea’s Joon Hee Yeah. In the end, Timoshenko emerged victorious, earning half a million dollars for his efforts.

5) Julio Diaz - $67,500
