At 4pm ET on Thursday, September 18, 2008 six players sat down to play at the final table of the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open. Less than three hours and 50 hands later, one remained – Vivek Rajkumar. Rajkumar walked into the final table with a commanding chip lead of nearly 6.5 million chips. Multiple WSOP bracelet winner Mark Seif was in second position with more than 4.6 million in his stack.
Rajkumar, an internet superstar, took out Seif in fifth place. The surprised Seif earned more than $387k for his efforts and Rajkumar wielded his dominant stack over the rest of the field. He took out the rest of the field in short order, even clipping the wind out of Sang Kim in heads-up play in just seven hands. Rajkumar made history by winning the fastest final table in the World Poker Tour ever.
