Ted Forrest pulled to the top of the chip lead during Day 4 of the Foxwoods Poker Classic. The winner of the 2007 Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament has kept that chip advantage and is sitting with more than 2.4 million chips as the final table gets ready to be played. Forrest, a former NBC National Heads-Up Champion, is joined at the final table by Erik Seidel.
Seidel, who is probably most famous as the guy who lost to Johnny Chan in the WSOP sequence seen in the flick ‘Rounders’, has 8 World Series bracelets. He’s also cashed in oodles of WPT events and has earned more than $7,000,000 in his lifetime in tournaments alone. A former Mayfair club regular, Seidel plays online at Full Tilt Poker and has the chip lead at the final table. We’re pretty sure he’d like to add WPT champ to his already-impressive poker resume.
Joining these two at the table are Frank Cieri, a newbie on the tournament circuit, Robert Richardson, a home game ‘hero’ and Andrew Barta, who has one WPT to his credit. Barta finished in the money at the 2007 Bellagio Cup III. He’s also made a final table at the US Poker Championships (2005) and earned over $500,000 at the 2007 Borgata Summer Open Championship.
Noticeably absent from the final table is Raj Patel, the 2007 WPT Foxwoods champ. He made an impressive run at back-to-back titles, but finished the tournament in 11th place.
