The final 32 players returned to the Fontana Room at the Bellagio. They were ready to play down to the World Poker Tour’s televised final table. Glen Chorny dispatched with the Robin Hood of Poker, former WPT champion Barry Greenstein in 30th place. The Canadian paired his ace on the turn, leaving Greenstein’s pocket nines a big dog on the river as Chorny held one of the two remaining nines in his hand. Greenstein netted $38,785 for his efforts, however.

Ted Forrest didn’t last much longer than Greenstein. The 2007 Bay 101 Shooting Stars champion held A,8 against former chip leader Javed Abraham’s dominant A,10. An ace hit the flop, but the kickers played and Forrest hit the rail in 26th position, earning as much as Greenstein did.

Other notable eliminations included Hevad Khan (25th place), Sabyl Cohen Landrum (15th) and Gentleman John Gale in eleventh position.

As we neared the final table, the action heated up, naturally, WSOP bracelet winners David Benyamine and John “The Razor” Phan were obviously taking no prisoners. They were building big stacks as was David “The Dragon” Pham, one of the most dangerous tournament players on the tournament circuit today. Unfortunately, his run for the title was ended by David Benyamine. Pham finished in ninth place and took home more than $90k.

The Frenchman, who has a WPT Grand Prize de Paris title under his belt, then KO’d Javed Abrahams in eighth place, leaving Per Ummer, the final table bubble boy, for John Phan.

Here is how the final six stack up:

  • Michael “Sir Watts” Watson (Seat 6) – 5,060,000
  • David Benyamine (Seat 4) – 4,860,000
  • John Phan (Seat 3) – 3,495,000
  • Luke Staudenmaier – (Seat 2) – 3,495,000
  • Ralph Perry (Seat 1) – 1,635,000
  • Gabriel Thaler (Seat 5) – 1,550,000
