Irish Poker Festival Winner paid €75,000

Lars Tongren has taken the title to the 2010 Ladbrokes Irish Poker Festival

After beating the field of 632 players the winner of the Irish Poker Festival, Lars Tornson, said, “I was really impressed with the structure of this event. I have been playing poker for about 8 years and this is my first big tournament win so I am absolutely delighted. I am already looking forward to next year’s Ladbrokes poker festival.” 

Great news for the organizers; in fact, Kate McLennan Head of Ladbrokes Poker said, “It has been another fantastic year in Ireland. The Ladbrokes.com Irish poker festival keeps getting better and we are delighted for Lars he was a worthy winner.  All eyes are now on the Poker cruise in January which is already shaping up to be one of the best yet.”

The prize pool for the event topped out at €316,000, with the biggest prizes going to those at the final table. When the players to their seats the chip leader was UK’s Jon Kalmer.

Richard Connoly was also from the UK while the remaining 7 players were all from Ireland: Valerie McGrath, Paul Lucey, Allen Mc Clean, Mark Coyne, Barry McGleenon ,  Brian Murphy and Paul Vermigo.

Lars Torngren won the day and Paul Lucey picked up €50,000 for a 2nd place finish with Barry McGleenon winning €30,000 in 3rd.
