The first shootout tournament in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series VIII took place on Thursday night. David "The Dragon" Pham was the host. The prize pool was set at $300,000. However, the 729 entrants in the tournament drove that up to $364,500.
Mike Matusow and Erick Lindgren were the only FTP pros to make the second round. This event was a tough one. As a shootout, each player has to defeat his or her entire table before they can advance. A triple shootout, as this event was called, would require the champ to beat not one or two tables, but THREE tables.
Matusow and Lindgren wound up at the same table in the second round. Unfortunately, neither of these talented pros was able to advance. In the end, BOP B 3AKOHE 1 took the final table, defeating Davidp18 in a heads-up match.
