1,296 players entered the third event at the FTOPS IX on Thursday August 7th, 2009. The crowd drew up the guaranteed prize pool from $250,000 to $259,200. 144 players cashed, many of these notable online and live action pros. For example, CrazyMarco (Marco Johnson) finished in 144th place, CrazyZachary took the 109th slot and Roothlus finished in 81st place. Erick Lindren took the 124th spot, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby finished in 98th position, Steve Zolotow collected $777.60 for 52nd place, Scott Fischman and Scott Clements took the same amount for their 45th & 46th place finishes respectively while Stuart Paterson hold the distinction of being Full Tilt’s top finisher in 39th place.
The eventual champ is CapTinBisKuit is not unknown to Tourneyblog readers. Nick Blumenthal is a previous winner of the Full Tilt Poker Sunday $750,000. He also finished fifth under one of his other online handles, “IAmKeyserSoze” at Bodog this past weekend (August 3, 2008). For defeating THEROBBOB20 in heads-up play in this contest, Blumenthal adds $45,360 to his online tournament earnings and another title to his impressive resume.
