815 players entered the fourth event of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series’ tenth installment on Friday, November 7, 2008. The tourney began at 14.00 ET and featured 558 rebuys and 538 add-ons. Unfortunately, the prize pool fell short of the $600,000 guarantee so Full Tilt had to put up a little bit of money to make the money.
That didn’t keep the experienced players away, however. Some of the more notable finishers included Halfrek (28th - $2,040), GrinderMJ (25th - $2,340), Jeremiah Smith (23rd - $2,340), colson10 (17th - $3,000) and orangeman88 (10th - $5,700). Aaron Bartley, a red Full Tilt pro, continued his fantastic run in this series with a third place elimination. He entered the final table with a solid chip lead and left it $64,500 richer.
In the end, mightypirate and Jeff “GrampaJeff” Gray fought it out for the top spot and the only six-figure payday of the tournament. Gray carried a narrow chip lead into the heads-up match-up and extended it as the match wore on eventually wearing down his opponent and claiming the title and the $138,000 first-place purse.
These are the final standings.
1) GrampaJeff - $138,000
2) mightypirate - $87,000
3) Aaron Bartley - $64,500
4) mrcall912 - $49,500
