1,024 entrants earned their way into the second event of the 2008 World Championships of Online Poker at Poker Stars. The name of the game was five-card stud and the posted guarantee was $100,000. Poker Stars is one of the only online poker rooms to offer the game so it comes as little surprise that the guarantee was more than doubled in this event. A total of $204,800 was up for grabs.
Exactly 156 players made bank in the event such as WhatArunAA (148th place - $327.68), Kongsgaard (104th place - $409.60), TaTaTunes, who earned some money in Event #1 too (70th place - $471.04), BKiCe (56th place - $512), BeL0WaB0Ve, recent leaderboard winner at Full Tilt's online poker series (44th place - $552.96), and THE__D__RY (29th - $819.20).
PokerStars-sponsored pro, Hevad “RaiNKhAN” Khan narrowly missed the final table in the event by taking seventh position. The talented poker player earned $4,096.00. In the end, ImBillMcNeal defeated wedlowjones in heads-up play to take the title, the bracelet and the $34,201.60.
These are the final results:
