Jon “Skalie” Kalmar will host a new weekly tournament at Ladbrokes Poker. Called Skalie’s Sunday Deepstack, the tournament has a buy-in of $100 + 9 and takes place at 4pm on Sunday afternoons, beginning March 8, 2009.
Low buy-in satellites for this event occur throughout the week at Ladbrokes. Kalmar said about the event, “I leapt at the chance to host my own tournament on Ladbrokes and when I was asked by Ladbrokespoker what I wanted it to be the answer was simple, a deep stack tournament with plenty of time to play it - the structure follows the majority of all major 'live' poker tournaments which is a great foundation for live play.”
There’s also a league format component to the tournament. The top 20 finishers each week are awarded points. The overall winner gets a $4,500 package to play in three Grosvenor UK Poker Tour events.
