Peter Feldman, the only player besides Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, to win two WSOPC Main Event championships, has amassed nearly $1.2 million in tournament earnings thus far in his career. The 29 year old poker professional presided over the $300 + 22 buy-in NLHE 6-max rebuy on Wednesday August 13, 2008, held as part of the FTOPS IX. 1,059 players took part in the event, driving the million dollar guarantee up to a whopping $1,207,500.
120 players were lucky and skillful enough to earn some money in the event. Obviously, a rich prize pool such as this drew out the big names both in the online and live action poker worlds. Allen Cunningham, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby, Jeff Madsen, Nikolay Evdakov and Robert Williamson III made money in the event. Nick Schulman narrowly missed the final table with a tenth place finish as did Ram “Crazy Horse” Vaswani. Vaswani’s eighth place finish earned him more than $25,300.
Tmay420, JCarver, dorinvandy, runner up in Event #1, and badbeatninja represented for the online crew. Teledonk, who took down Event #2 earlier in the series, finished in 29th position, adding nearly $5500 to his take for the series. GulahPapyrus, a two-time winner of the Full Tilt Poker Sunday GTD tournament, was the final table bubble boy, taking the seventh slot and $25,357.50 for his efforts.
IWEARGOGGLES, aka Luke Staudenmaier, finished in third position, earning six figures and leaving the final two to fight it out for the top spot. GETPWN3D and MishkaT battled back and forth. In the end, MishkaT reigned supreme and collected more than $250,000 as well as the title. Wow!
