Now that the Olympics are over, the online poker world can turn its attention to the World Championships of Online Poker. The WCOOP begins on Friday September 5 at Poker Stars and features 33 total events. Lots of brands of poker are represented including NLHE, 2-7 triple draw, seven and five-card stud, razz, Omaha, HORSE and more.
Ten new events have been added to this year’s WCOOP and the total guaranteed prize pool of the series is a mind-numbing $30,000,000. There’s even a $10,300 buy-in high roller NLHE tourney and a $25k heads-up tourney. The Main Event begins on September 21st and will last for two days. It has a buy-in of $5,200.
Last year’s main event winner was ka$ino. Poker Stars pro, Vanessa “LadyMaverick” Rousso finished in second position.
