Poker Stars has three tournaments on Sundays now. The site that’s home to pros like Joe Hachem, Daniel Negreanu and Humberto Brenes, among others, doesn’t rest on the weekend. Rather, the biggest action occurs on Sunday afternoons and evenings. This weekend the winners from all three events earned over $300,000 for their efforts.
Egar1m, an online player from the United States, won the Sunday Warm-Up, receiving a cool $84,601.44 for the win. He faced a global final table with peeps from Canada, Slovak Republic, Finland, Denmark, Czech Republic and Sweden.
Here are the final results:

The High Stakes Showdown has a big buy-in and lots of big heads-up action. The event attracts major online players and, despite the hefty price tag, always fills up days before the tournament begins. This weekend Big Santa, a Swedish player, took the top spot and received $72,000 for the win. Also making bank in this shootout tourney were ADZ124 and buck21 from Canada and supernova9.
Of course, the biggest game at PokerStars is still the Sunday Million Tournament. 6,959 players entered the event, driving up the prize pool to an impressive $1,391,800. 5902838181, the eventual champ, was the chip leader. About twenty minutes after the final table began, Ann Karen raised to 1.4 mil with her pocket jacks. She got one caller, 5902838181, who held pocket queens. The board didn’t yield any help and Ann Karen hit the rails in ninth place.
lostremote was eliminated on the very next hand. Only a few minutes later, Professor122 followed him out the door. He had the lead against 5902838181 until the turn and river gave the chip leader a miracle queen-high, club flush. The $21,573 will go a long way to healing Professor’s wounds, however.
The table would suffer another loss less than five minutes later. Infitilt went all-in preflop for 7.1 mil. 5902838181 called and showed his pocket sevens. Infiltilt would need help for his Ac,6s. The board wouldn’t bring any. His sixth place finish netted him over 30k. By this point 5902838181 was a massive chip leader. His nearest competitor, EC10, had about 1/3 the amount of chips he did.
Unfortunately, EC10 tried to make some moves to bridge the gap. The end result wasn’t good for EC10. He ended up finishing in fifth place. Princess13 pushed all-in preflop with Ac,7c. The hand proved deadly for her as chipsncheese called and showed the Ah,8h. The flop dashed all her hopes as it brought three hearts. She earned quite a royal payday of $55,672 for her efforts.
Tecknowledgy followed the princess to the rail on the next hand. 5902838181’s Ks,10s was good enough to oust Teck with his off-suit 9,8. As heads-up play began, chipsncheese was in second place with 23.2 mil chips to 5902838181’s 46.4 mil. However, the lead would change hands shortly when chipsncheese made a full house vs. 5902838181’s two pair. The 20 mil pot gave cheese the chips advantage.
The chip lead would swing back again to 5902838181’s benefit. On the final hand, 5902838181’s won a race situation on the turn with his K,J vs. chipsncheese’s pocket sixes. The win gave 5902838181 over 196,000.
