2,091 players showed up for the HORSE at PokerStars on Saturday September 13, 2008. The $215 buy-in event had five brands of poker and a bunch of poker pros such as Chad Brown, Dario Minieri, Barry Greenstein, Hevad Khan and Raymond Rahme. In total, more than $418,000 was up for grabs in the event and 304 players would receive some money in the end.
Humberto Brenes, Katja Thater and Barry Greenstein all earned cash in the tourney. Greenstein was the unfortunate final-table bubble boy. He finished in ninth place, earning $3,972.90 in prize money for his efforts. The final two players in the tournament were Sensor, who finished in 8th place in the 18th event at the WCOOP back in 2007, and LittleRedElf, who had some time off from Santa’s workshop before busy season got started (just kidding!).
In the end, Sensor’s experience served him well. He won the day and the event, after agreeing to a by-the-chips-chops with LittleRedElf.
These are the results:
1) Sensor — $57,422
2) LittleRedElf — $47,797
3) troyomac— $25,928
4) BabyJeebus99 — $16,728
5) Obender — $8,573
6) tennisklause — $7,319
7) Rabscuttle — $6,064
8) BackdoorNutz — $4,809
