Event #22 of the PokerStars’ WCOOP was a Limit Hold’em tournament. Limit is not as popular as the No-Limit variety of the game. Taking that into account, along with the fact that the buy-in was $1,050, it’s no surprise that only 600 folks paid to play in the event held last Friday.

James Mackey, aka mig.com, and Chris “Money800” Moneymaker showed up, hoping to win. Moneymaker was in third place with fifty folks left. However, he got into some serious trouble and wound up the 33^rd place finisher. The final table began about twelve hours into the event. der Falk went all-in with big slick and came up against the pocket cowboys of BUTCH ACIDY. His ninth place finish netted him $8,008.

ACIDY didn’t make it much further than der Falk, going out in seventh position. With a dwindling stack below 100k, he went all-in pre-flop with a less than desirable Q,10. emptyseat88 reraised with a K,6. The board offered no help to either player, and empty created a vacancy at the final table with just a king-high.

DEVIRUS sank on the river after hitting a set of deuces on the flop. His opponent made a higher set with a six on the final card. DEVIRUS was probably still shaking his head as he hit the rail in sixth. Hopefully, the $27,720 he earned provided enough cushion to break his fall.

Emptyseat88 then lived up to his name, creating an open space after SowerSS, the event’s eventual winner, KOd him in fourth place. SowerSS and jumper17 agreed to a deal during their heads-up match-up, giving both players more than $100,000 for the day with an extra $60k going to the champ, along with the bracelet.
