Last Thursday, Event #18 of the Poker Stars’ World Championships of Online Poker was played. The name of the game was Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo. Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo is a game of card (and common) sense, observation and skill. It’s not the world’s most popular game, but hey, we like it that way. 600 folks paid the $530 entry fee to play in this event, driving up the prize pool to $299,000 which was almost 100k bigger than the guarantee.
rkruok, who made the final table in Event #8 earlier this WCOOP, narrowly missed the final table here. He was the bubble boy, coming in ninth after mysticaces hit the high with his pair of jacks. There was no low to be won.
motor1963 and crazyjanie were at the top of the chip heap as the action got underway. They had about 400k each. Sensor was the first eliminated when his two pair and no low failed to beat the trips of motor1963. motor1963 claimed the next KO as well. TheActionKid caught a pair of Aces but lost to the triple ducks of his opponent.
BigLL played some great pots, building up his chip stack to almost 850k at one point. However, crazyjanie and her rolled up sevens cost him a bunch of chips. Later, Janie would scoop another big pot off BigLL, leaving him in chip trouble. However, BigLL navigated the treacherous waters quite well. At three-handed play, he, Janie and mysticaces agreed to a by-the-chips-chop with $9,000 left for the winner, along with the bracelet.
Soon after, Janie took a crazy crash from chip leader to railbird. BigLL poured on the pressure and scooped the final pot with three ducks and a low of 6,5,3,2,A.
Here are the results:
1) BigLL - $48,367
2) mysticaces - $38,712
3) Crazyjanie - $49,473
4) pinfishtom - $18,567.90
5) motor1963 - $14,950
6) theowl48 - $11,661
7) TheActionKid - $8,730.80
8) Sensor - $5,681
