Poker Stars Sunday Million Results from 10.26.08

Serena DaSilva - 28 Oct 2008

7,415 players entered the Poker Stars Sunday Million tournament on the last Sunday of October, 2008. Although the online home of six of the nine finalists at the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event had to pay out $17,000 to meet the $1.5 million guarantee, the event went forward as planned and had plenty of action at the final table.

BackDoorovic made his first appearance in the final table of this event, taking the ninth position and $10,500. cashadvance7 did him one better, finishing in eighth place and earning more than $17k for his efforts. NumbNutzzzz had the biggest cash of his career. He took down the fourth slot and received $69,000.

sms9231, who goes by the name chicagocards1 at Full Tilt Poker and UltimateBet, had amassed nearly $400,000 in online earnings so far in his career, narrowly missed heads-up play and put an additional $84,000 in his account for a third place finish. This left salvo58 and darkillermax heads-up to fight it out for the top spot.

The duo agreed to a deal which guaranteed darkillermax $145,000 and salvo58 nearly $135,000 with $30,000 left over for the winner. As the last pot was collected, darkillermax held all the chips and salvo58 hit the rail.
