Mike Matusow kicked off the first event of the FTOPS X, a $216 buy-in short-handed NLHE competition with a million dollar guarantee. The tournament began at 21.00 pm ET sharp on Wednesday November 5th, 2008. 5,124 entrants took to the virtual felt narrowly increasing the prize pool to $1,024,800.
A grand total of 492 players made bank in the tournament including Full Tilt pros such as Chip Jett (441), Beth Shak (325), Adam Schoenfeld (305) and Aaron Bartley (225). Online legend Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy took 86th place, earning a little bit more than $1,045 for his efforts while former Full Tilt Sunday finisher SN8WMAN claimed 44th place.
In the end, davin77 emerged victorious after defeating Bog25 heads-up. davin77 received $195,757.30 and the first FTOPS X gold avatar jersey of the series.
