Poker Stars Sunday Million Results from 8.31.08

7,212 players entered the Poker Stars Sunday Million tournament on the last weekend of August. The online home of former WSOP Main Event champs Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, Tom McEvoy and Greg Raymer had to pay out $58,000 to meet the $1.5 million guarantee. Tim “Tmay420” West made bank in the event, finishing in 22nd place, earning $3,000.

As the final table got underway diegoaiz had the lead with 14,567,593 chips. He flushed on the river, eliminating UnbrokeN in sixth position and negotiated a deal when the final three remained, guaranteeing himself at least $118,849.49. After defeating FlopeDeNuts’ pocket nines with a pair of tens, he walked into heads up play against TheRodGuy with a massive chip lead.

However, it wasn’t a cake walk for diegoaiz. It took him more than 120 hands to put away his opponent, before winning the additional $30,000 that was set aside for the winner.
