Bodog had 720 entrants to its Sunday $100,000 Guaranteed on August 3, 2008. The site paid out $28k to meet the guarantee – that’s nearly 1/3 of the total prize pool. The value that gets passed along to the player is not lost on the savvy internet rounder. Again, the final table was chock-full of name players including drexxel7, IAmKeyserSoze, iLLNuGWichee and phatcat.

The two biggest names, by far, were Nicholas Blumenthal, aka IAmKeyserSoze, and Shawn “phatcat” Luman. Blumenthal, a previous winner of the Full Tilt Poker $750k Sunday Guarantee, has earned more than $314,000 in online tournaments so far in his poker career. His fifth place finish was good for $5,700. Luman, aka phatcat, the winner of the Bodog Open Main Event, has amassed over $600k to date and is one of the hottest online players in the world right now. Luman added $9,100 to his bankroll for finishing third. However, we bet he’d have preferred the title.

In the end, SirStevie89 and docbox3 were the last two players at the table. Neither has had much experience in this situation. However, they handled the situation well and played brilliant poker to get to that point. docbox3 raked in the final pot, claiming the title and the top prize of $23,600.
