Event #5 at the PokerStars 2008 World Championship of Online Poker was a $10,000 High Roller tournament. The name of the game was No-Limit Hold’em. 321 players put up the nosebleed buy-in. Each of these players had a reputation as a solid player. Obviously, entry into the final table wouldn’t be easy.
Sitting in the top spot was dorinvandy, aka Scott Dorin, a runner-up in the first event of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series. He had a solid chip lead over the EPT Grand Champion Glen “Choron” Chorny, former WSOP Main Event winner Chris “Money800” Moneymaker and former baseball player Orel “O.Hershiser” Hershiser.
As the final cards were dealt, dorinvandy sat across from Greg “DuckU” Hobson. DuckU won two events at the Ultimate Bet Online Championships last December and hasn’t been short on success since. This time dorinvandy wouldn’t settle for second. He got his bracelet, a WCOOP title and more than $600,000.
These are the final table facts:
1) dorinvandy - $617,925
2) DuckU - $459,030
3) #1PEN - $337,050
4) Choron – $256,800

6) Money800 - $139,635
7) Jcardshark - $107,535
