Event #26 was a No-Limit Hold’em 6-max tournament with a $320 buy-in. 3,273 players entered the event and created an impressive prize pool of nearly $1,000,000. 480 players would get a chance to split $981,900. Many of the PokerStars pros who entered the event exited quickly such as Chad Brown, John Duthie and Chris Moneymaker. Only Dario Minieri, Vanessa Rousso and Steve-Paul Ambrose made any money in the tourney.
Fourteen hours after the tournament began, the final table was set. Scott “dorinvandy” Dorin, who already has a WCOOP bracelet from the $10,000 NLHE tournament this year, was in the middle of the pack with nearly 1.7 million chips. rubenrtv, who finished first in the Sunday Warmup at PokerStars back on May 18, 2008, had the chip lead and continued to dominate as heads-up play began. MCLegend was at a 5-to-1 disadvantage. At one point, he overtook rubenrtv’s lead.
In the end, rubenrtv battled back and won the night, or early morning such as it was.
Here are the final table results:
1) rubenrtv — $135,688
2) MCLegend — $84,500
3) HT-Max — $92,000
4) tRaMp$d0PrAy — $84,500
5) dorinvandy — $31,499
6) BB_ShiNing — $17,183
