Poker Stars WCOOP 2008 – Results from Event #1

The 2008 Poker Stars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) began on Friday September 5, 2008. The series, which will feature 33 tournaments and guarantees at least $30,000,000 over the next half a month. 7,217 players took to the virtual felt for the first event, a $215 buy-in short-handed NLHE tournament. about 1100 players earned some cash in the tourney such as Mark Flowers, aka “RandALLin” and Christopher “TaTaTunes” Antunes.

The final six discussed a deal almost as soon as the final table was set. However, no agreement was reached, and the most well-known player at the table, Jordan “scarface_79” Smith, hit the rails first. The remaining four struck an agreement, including shane147, the eventual champ. This is reflected in the final results, which are:
